I supplemented my letter of 1:257 dated September 27th 1880 at the request of as I understand His Excellency.
of the before mentioned letters all of which affect seriously my relations with the Chief Justice I have received no reply and I now submit most respectfully that I ought not to be called upon to answer any counter charge made by the Chief Justice until I had an opportunity afforded of substantiating my charges against him particularly the accusation I have made and the matters referred to in the several letters connected with the subject are closely related to which I understand your letter now under acknowledgment refers.
I take this opportunity for saying that I have most anxiously awaited His Excellency's decision the miseries I have undergone I have been in the Colony since owing to the conduct of the Chief Justice has at last affected my health and I have experienced a series of febrile attacks
which are light at present but which will increase in severity and ultimately terminate fatally if I do not permit myself to afford proper rest.
